Assistant Professor of French, UC Berkeley
The Department of French at UC Berkeley invites applications for a tenure-track position as AssistantProfessor of French, effective July 1, 2013. The field is 20th and/or 21st century French literary and cultural studies. Candidates working in post-1950s French literature and culture are especially encouraged to apply. Expertise in contemporary French poetry, new media, film, aesthetics, or critical thought will be an asset. The successful candidate will be a dynamic teacher of introductory and advanced undergraduate courses as well as graduate seminars with cross-disciplinary focus. Requirements are a completed Ph.D. or equivalent by the time of appointment, fluency in French, and evidence of excellence in teaching and research.
