The Department of Language Studies at the University of Toronto Mississauga invitesapplications for a tenure-stream appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in the field of Teaching and Learning with a specialization in French as a Second Language. The appointment will commence July 1, 2014.Qualified candidates must have a PhD in the field of teaching and learning, or second language pedagogy, by time of the appointment or shortly thereafter. The successful candidate must show evidence of excellence in research and teaching in Teaching and Learning with a specialization in French as a Second Language. Native or near-native proficiency in French and a high functional level of English proficiency are required. An ability to support the French programs in literature or linguistics would be an asset.The successful applicant will teach undergraduate courses in the Department of Language Studies, and engage in the co-curricular and experiential learning activities offered in the Department. S/he will undertake graduate teaching and supervision, either as a member of the Graduate Department of French at the St. George campus, or the Graduate Department of Curriculum, Teaching and Learning at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), of the University of Toronto.
