POSITION VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Assistant Professor of French
The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s Department of French, Italian
and Comparative Literature invites applications for a tenure-track
position in French at the rank of Assistant Professor. Native or
near-native fluency in French and Ph.D. in French (or closely related
field) in hand at the time of application are required. The position
will carry a teaching load of four courses per year (2-2) and requires
the ability to teach at least three of the following: literature,
culture, film, linguistics and language. Area of specialization open.
Successful candidates must have a proven commitment to excellence in
teaching, scholarly research and publication, as well as an expressed
interest in community outreach activities. Preference will be given to
candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: early
modern or enlightenment literature, cultural studies, linguistics,
Québec studies. Initial review of applications will begin November 5,
2012. Applications received after that date may not be considered.
